MatthewMedia
MatthewMedia is an app for Roku that plays the movies, shows and home videos stored on a MatthewMedia Server - a server that you, or someone you know, runs at home. The app comes with no video of its own. It connects only to the server address you type in, and nothing about what you watch goes to anyone but that server.
How it works
- The owner of a server invites you and gives you two things: the server's address and an access code.
- Open MatthewMedia on your TV and choose Connect to a server.
- Type the address, then the code. That TV stays signed in until you sign it out.
Try it
A public demo server with freely licensed films is open to everyone:
Server address: demo.matthewmediaserver.com
Access code: PLAY-2468
Demo films: Big Buck Bunny, Sintel, Tears of Steel, Caminandes and Elephants Dream (c) Blender Foundation, Creative Commons Attribution; Plan 9 from Outer Space (1959), public domain.
What you can do
- Browse movies, TV shows and other videos with pictures and descriptions.
- Pick up where you left off, on any TV signed in with your code.
- Skip through a film with preview pictures, and turn on subtitles when a video has them.
- Search by title.
